History

JEA is a 501(c)3 organization that in 2015 reported income of $1.7 million and assets of $1.5 million. It was founded in 1924, becoming incorporated in the state of Minnesota in 1967. It reincorporated in the state of Kansas in 2014.


About

JEA's mission statement is to support "free and responsible scholastic journalism by providing resources and educational opportunities, by promoting professionalism, by encouraging and rewarding student excellence and teacher achievement, and by fostering an atmosphere which encompasses diversity yet builds unity."
