History

Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Company was founded in 1973. By 2009 they had built more than 400 ships. In 2009 JSSC received orders for more than twenty ships between 500-tons and 2,000-tons from the
Coast Guard Administration (Taiwan) The Coast Guard Administration of the Ocean Affairs Council (CGA; ), also known as the Taiwan Coast Guard or R.O.C. Coast Guard, is charged with maintaining law and order, protecting the resources of the territorial waters of the Republic of Chin ...
(CGA). In 2015 JSSC launched two 3,000-ton patrol ships for the CGA, the ''Yilan'' (CG 128) and ''Kaohsiung'' (CG 129). JSSC is participating in the development of a Taiwanese domestic AUV. They have delivered Taiwan's first locally designed and built drilling vessel. The ''Polaris Australis'' was delivered to Dragon Prince Hydro-Survey Enterprise Co and Dragon Prince in 2017.
