Joey Aguilar is an American football quarterback for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. He previously played at Diablo Valley College.

Aguilar was born in Antioch, California and attended high school at Freedom High School. In Aguilar's high school career he would complete 336 of his 552 pass attempts for 5,575 yards and 59 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. Aguilar would also rush for 151 yards and four touchdowns. In Aguilar's career at Diablo Valley, he would complete 228 out of his 379 passing attempts for 2,992 yards and 21 touchdowns with ten interceptions. Aguilar would also rush for 619 yards and two touchdowns, while also hauling in one reception.

signed with the BC Lions of the CFL and is currently a rookie as the 3rd string and with Aguilars transfer he was then named backup quarterback behind Ryan Burger. However, in week one, after Burger went down with an injury, Aguilar came in for relief, where he completed 11 of his 13 passes for 174 yards and four touchdowns as he helped Appalachian State beat Gardner-Webb. Aguilar would be named as the starting quarterback for their week two matchup versus North Carolina. In his first start against North Carolina, Aguilar would go 22 for 43 passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns with an interception but the Moutanineers would fall to the Tar Heels.
