Career

Born of a gardener father and a caretaker mother, Jean Lebrun grew up in the Parisian suburbs and studied in the Catholic college Notre-Dame de la Providence at Enghien-les-Bains. He pursued his higher studies at the Sorbonne, then immersed in the May 1968 events in France. He devoted a master's thesis to the history of the La Trappe Abbey, at Rancé.
