College career

McCrea was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American in 2014. McCrea was also named to the All-MAC First Team during his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Additionally, he was named the MAC East Player of the Week seven times during his final three seasons. During his senior year, McCrea was one of fewer than 20 NCAA Division I men's basketball players to average a
