Born in 1982, Sprenger earned his
international master FIDE titles are awarded by the international chess governing body FIDE (''Fédération Internationale des Échecs'') for outstanding performance. The highest such title is Grandmaster (GM). Titles generally require a combination of Elo rating and ...
title in 2001 and his grandmaster title in 2018. He is the No. 55 ranked German player as of March 2023. Sprenger plays in the German Chess Bundesliga for the team of ''Schachfreunde Berlin'' and writes regularly on chess-related topics.
