. Over Christmas 2022, Sterry helped to raise over £1,500 for a local foodbank. He was later nominated as Hartlepool's PFA Community Champion for his efforts. At the end of the 2022–23 season, Sterry was offered a new deal with Hartlepool but he turned it down in order to explore other options. He made 102 appearances in all competitions for Pools and scored on his final appearance in a 3–1 win against Barrow on 29 April 2023, a day which saw the club relegated back to the National League after results went against them.
