He was born in 1901 to James Augustine Farrell. From his graduation from Yale University in 1924, he was a ship operator and owner. He and his brother and
John J. Farrell (businessman) John J. Farrell (1872 – July 22, 1946) was the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Dairy and Food Commissioner of Minnesota in 1917 and president of the National Creamery Buttermakers' Association. By 1921 he was the secretary of National Dairy ...
eventually became the founders of a shipping company named Farrell Lines. He died in 1966.
