The Fuel hired Doug Christiansen as the general manager and head coach for the 2019–20 season following his first season as head coach of the Manchester Monarchs. On September 14, 2022, it was announced that the Fuel would be moving to a new 8,500-seat arena to be built in Fishers, Indiana, in time for the 2024–25 season.
