Her great-grandfather Nathuram "Shankar" Sharma by Deshraj Singh Yadav, Mahakavi Sankara-smrti-grantha, Mahakavi Sankara Smriti Prakashan Samiti, (1986), p. 406 was poet of Hindi literature, and her grandfather Hari Shankar Sharma and father Kripa Shankar Sharma were also well known Hindi poets.
