In the 17th century, during the Dutch era, '' Favorolang'' was one of the largest and most powerful aboriginal villages in Taiwan. The name has also been spelled ''Favorlang'', ''Favorlangh'', and ''Vovorollang''. Its location was north of Tirosen (modern-day
