Goodman attended the University of Memphis and played college baseball for the Memphis Tigers for three seasons. He batted .326/.367/.573 with 16 doubles, 13 home runs, and 67 runs batted in (RBI) as a freshman and was named the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Newcomer of the Year.
