The album was released on 22 March and is considered his most personal album to date. In his own words, the entire album is about the construction and deconstruction of his essence, about that story he talks about, the story that led him through the years to build this. The 11 tracks precisely tell anecdotes he went through, which is why it's his most personal album. The album cover, titled "El Poeta", is the work of Cuban artist Reynier Llanes. Humbe later announced the Esencia Tour.
