The second generation Hawtai Shengdafei was powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing and of torque and a 2.0 liter turbo-diesel engine. As of August 2017, the model was launched as the Hawtai Shengdafei 5, with the original Hawtai Shengdafei name being transformed into a whole series of products. The 1.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine power increased to at 5,500 rpm and of torque at 2,000 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Hawtai Shengdafei 5 also spawned electric variants including the Hawtai Shengdafei 5XEV 260 and Hawtai Shengdafei 5XEV 480 featuring blue accents that differentiates from the internal combustion engine version.
