Early life

Traylen was born in Crawley, England. She attended

. Whilst there, she caught the eye of a drama teacher who had worked previously with Central Junior Television Workshop in Nottingham, with alumni including Vicky McClure and Jack O'Connell. The teacher encouraged her to train at drama school and follow acting as a career. She was accepted into Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts at the age of 17 and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting. She mentioned in a recent interview that at the age of 3 she had told her mother that she wanted to be on screen. In 2016, she received the Sir Alec Guinness Award for Actor of the Year.
