Description
A post office called Hamiltons Fort was in operation between 1859 and 1913. Variant names were "Hamilton Fort", "Fort Hamilton", "Fort Hamblin", "Hamblin", "Hambleton", and "Hamilton".
The community was named after John Hamilton, a pioneer settler.
