History

The team was founded in November 2000 as Shaanxi Gaitianli Kylins by the Xi'an Dongsheng Group. In August 2001, they won the "B" league championship, and were promoted to the CBA. In the 2004–05 season, the Shaanxi Kylins finished in fifth place in the North Division, and were out of the playoffs. In 2005–06, they finished sixth, and were once again out of the playoffs. The team was scheduled to participate in the 2008 season of the
