Dortch redshirted his first year at Wake Forest in 2016. As a redshirt freshman in 2017, he played in eight games and had 53 receptions for 722 yards and nine

. As a redshirt sophomore in 2018, he had 89 receptions for 1,078 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named an All-American as a
