At the 2006 National Census, its population (as two rural districts of the
Central District) was 7,694 in 1,586 households.
The following census in 2011 counted 5,527 people in 1,279 households,
by which time parts of the Central District had separated in the establishment of Golgir District.
At the latest census in 2016, the district had 7,238 inhabitants in 1,946 households.
