. He went on to study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was recruited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a cadet around the same time. One of Meir's first postings was as Consul and Administration Officer at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the negotiating team that drafted the
