In 2012 he was named co-head coach (together with Carlo Perrone) of Novara before being moved back in charge of the Under-19 team weeks later due to poor results. He also served again as Novara's head coach in 2014 in the relegation playoff second leg against Varese. In June 2020, he returned to Como as an assistant coach, being promoted to head coach in December 2020 following the dismissal of Marco Banchini.
