Wodicka directs the inter-institutional partnership between the Purdue College of Engineering and its Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and the Indiana University School of Medicine, the largest medical school in the United States. He constructed the biomedical engineering component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported Medical Scientist (MD/PhD) Training Program as led by D. Wade Clapp that trains physician-engineers. He co-leads with Sherry Harbin Purdue's college-wide Engineering-Medicine initiative. Wodicka also serves as the deputy director of the NIH-supported Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI).
