He won a record 15 titles at the New Zealand National Bowls Championships bowling for the various bowls clubs. The wins were in the singles (1989, 1994); pairs (1997, 2008, 2010, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2023) and fours (1993, 1994. 1996, 1997, 2004, 2017/18, 2020).
