As of the 2020 census there were 1,292 people, 482 households, and 366 families residing in the township. The population density was . There were 579 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the township was 96.75% White, 0.08% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.46% from other races, and 2.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.63% of the population. There were 482 households, out of which 31.50% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.11% were married couples living together, 10.58% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 24.07% were non-families. 21.20% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.30% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.96. The township's age distribution consisted of 29.4% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 22.8% from 25 to 44, 28% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40.8 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.
