Geography

Galgenen has an area, , of . Of this area, 50.8% is used for agricultural purposes, while 39.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 9% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.4%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains). It consists of the village of Galgenen and village section of Siebnen-Galgenen as well as the hamlets of Achern, Buechli, Stöckli and Steinweid.
