Frisby railway station was a former station serving the village of

in Leicestershire. The station was situated at a level crossing on the road to Hoby.


History

The station opened in 1847 on the
Syston and Peterborough Railway The Syston and Peterborough Railway was an early railway in England opened between 1846 and 1848 to form a connection from the Midland Counties Railway near Leicester to Peterborough, giving access to East Anglia over the Eastern Counties Railway ...
, but until 1849 it only had a service on Melton market days. It closed in 1961. There were no goods facilities at the station.


Stationmasters

The station masters house was one of the smallest and cheapest on the line between Syston and Melton Mowbray.
