His pupils include Pietro Tomba, Antonio Marchi, Spagnuoli, Luigi Martelli, L. Paradisi and Gaetano Guadagnini. The latter replaced him as professor at the Bolognese Academy. His daughter, Enrichetta Rosaspina, married his pupil Giuseppe Asioli; their son, Luigi Asioli, became a prominent painter.
