The business opened in 1954 and initially operated as a
grocery store, carrying Asian food products such as dried banana flowers, fish bladders, and
instant noodle

Eater Portland'' list of "Portland's Biggest Guilty Pleasure Restaurants".
In his 2016 overview of "97 long-gone Portland restaurants we wish were still around", Grant Butler of ''
The Oregonian'' said, "This longtime Chinatown restaurant was never much to look at, but in the 1980s and ‘90s, this was the place to go for some of the city’s best dim sum."
