, Zadina having trained in the off-season with HC Oceláři Třinec was loaned by the Red Wings to join the Czech ELH club for the beginning of their season until the resumption of the Red Wings training camp in November. On 6 July 2023, Zadina agreed to a termination of the remaining two years of his contract with the Red Wings, after being placed on waivers. Zadina became an unrestricted free agent and was signed to a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the San Jose Sharks on 10 July 2023.
