Fannettsburg was

ted in 1790, and named after Fannett Township. A post office called Fannettsburg was established in 1809. The spellung of the town's name was changed to Fannettsburgh in 1827, but was restored to Fannettsburg in 1892. Fannettsburg's ZIP code, 17221, covers , a population of 637 and 316 housing units, 252 of them occupied. Note that this is not an official USPS website, but it includes a map. The vacant housing unit stats is misleading, however, as the data includes a former campground that has vacant mobile homes. As of 2021, there were only two vacant homes in the main part of town.
