of Graubünden. On 1 January 2011 Fanas and Valzeina were merged with the municipality of Grüsch.

History

Fanas is first mentioned in second half of the 12th Century as ''Phanaunes''.

Geography

Fanas has an area, , of . Of this area, 45% is used for agricultural purposes, while 36.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (17.5%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains). The municipality is located in the Seewis sub-district of the Prättigau/Davos district on a terrace between Grüsch and Schiers. It consists of the linear village of Fanas.

Languages
