In October, the club won the final stage of the Belarusian championship in the Second League, defeating Rogachev's Maksline in the final, and won the right to play in the First League of the Belarusian Football Championship. Striker Alexei Khodnevich set a record for the Second League in the number of goals scored in one season. In 2022, FC Ostrovets made its debut in the First League. During the season, the team took places in the top three, but the second round was not as successful as the beginning of the championship and as a result FC Ostrovets took fifth place in the final table. The outcome of the 2023 season was the most unsuccessful for the green and white in their short history. After the first ten rounds, the team was seventh in the standings, but by the end of the first half of the championship it dropped to 11th place. Summer transfers were supposed to help fix the situation and at first the result improved. The islanders returned to the 7th place in the table after the 26th round, but the team failed at the end of the season. In the final eight rounds, only two points were scored, a series of six consecutive defeats at the finish dropped the team to 12th place. At the end of the season, contracts with 19 players were terminated for various reasons. By the beginning of the 2024 season, the "green-white" appeared in front of their fans in an updated lineup. After the unsatisfactory result of the previous season, the club's management reshuffled the coaching staff. Yuri Karatai took over the position of head coach, and Sergey Krot became his assistant. The club has embarked on a course of rejuvenation, contracts have been signed mainly with football players born in 2002-2004, the average age of the team was 22 years at the beginning of the season.
