Landmarks

Sri Sambamoortheeswarar Temple Sambamoortheeswarar Temple is a saivite temple located at Yethapur. Presiding deity here is Lord Siva who is worshipped as Sambamoortheeswarar. Lord Siva is in suyambu form. His consort goddess Parvati is worshipped as Manonmani. A Vilvam tree is standing here for over 1000 years. This temple is one among the Panchaboodha Sthalam along the river Vashista and is known as Appu (Water) Sthalam. The temple has a three tier Rajagopuram. During the Tamil month of Masi Sun rays fall on the lord which is the specialty of this temple. Lord Murugan of this temple has unusual six faces (three facing front and three backside). Lord Vinayagar of this temple is worshipped as Pradhana Vinayagar. Chaturveda lingam, Pancha lingam and Jesta Devi are having separate shrines.


Education

Govt. Higher Secondary School The Yethapur Govt. Hr. Sec. School was started around 60 years back with the efforts of Alagiri Iyer family. The family donated the entire land on which the school stands and also built the main block of the school and donated these to the government.
