Sir Edward had three sons, one of them, Peter Warburton-Jones (died 2001), was also a barrister in England and, latterly, Northern Ireland.His eldest son is Anthony Graham Hume Jones who became Resident Judge in Taunton. His third son was Hume Riversdale Jones (died 2007) was Director of Savile in Hampshire. His first wife was Margaret Anne Crosland Smellie (died 1953) jhe married her sister, Ruth Buchan Smellie (died 1989). They had one son, Charles Edward Buchan Jones, a solicitor in Liverpool
