Biography

Adams was born on August 17, 1910, in Grambling, Louisiana. He was the son of Martha and Charles P. Adams, founder and first President of Grambling University. He attended
Tuskegee University Tuskegee University (Tuskegee or TU), formerly known as the Tuskegee Institute, is a private, historically black land-grant university in Tuskegee, Alabama. It was founded on Independence Day in 1881 by the state legislature. The campus was d ...
. Adams served as the sixth head football coach at the North Carolina College for Negroes—now known as North Carolina Central University—in
