Biography

Ranum made her literary début in 1949 with the novel ''Efter siste akt''. She has written several crime novels and audio plays. She was awarded the
Riverton Prize The Riverton Prize ( no, Rivertonprisen) is a literature award given annually to the best Norwegian crime story (novel, short story, play, original screenplay). The prize is named after the Norwegian journalist and author Sven Elvestad (1884-1934) ...
in 1986, for the audio play series ''Ringer i mørkt vann''. Ranum was originally an actress, and started writing after she lost her sight due to illness.
