History
The chain was founded in 1854 by William Dierberg. In 1914, William Dierberg moved to Creve Coeur to help run the general store. The store was located at the "Creve Coeur House", which had the 14 Mile House hotel and the Creve Coeur Farmer's Bank.
In 1929, William turned the business over to his three sons, Bill, Fred & Vallie (Butch). The following year, the company moved into a new building in
Creve Coeur, Missouri, Creve Coeur. By 1968, the chain had 3 stores. In 2013, it opened its first location outside of the St. Louis metro when it expanded to
