''D. arthriscifolium'' is sister to all other species of ''Delphinium'' ''sensu stricto'' (so excluding ''Staphisagria''). ''Aconitella'' cannot be retained as a subgenus because ''A. barbata'' does not cluster with the remaining species previously assigned to that genus, without creating five further subgenera.
