According to the United States Census Bureau, the unorganized territory has a total area of 18.2 square miles (47.1 km2), of which 16.8 square miles (43.6 km2) is land and 1.3 square miles (3.5 km2) (7.37%) is water. The GNIS also notes it as Second Assessment Unorganized Territory.
