Coaching career

Hobbs became coach at Bradford Northern until he left for
Wakefield Trinity Wakefield Trinity is a professional rugby league club in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, that plays in the Super League. One of the original twenty-two clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895, between 1999 and 2016 the ...
in 1994. He then went to Halifax as Director of Football. His brother, Kevin Hobbs, also played for, and

ed Featherstone Rovers in 1999. In 2005, Hobbs was appointed coach of his first team, Featherstone Rovers halfway through the season after Gary Price left, however he failed to save Featherstone Rovers from relegation.
