Her brother Alain, who was to have been married the following Friday, was also killed, and her mother Verena was severely injured. Corinne's two-year-old son, Kevin, home at the time of the attack, was left unharmed, and Corinne's father was not home at the time. A warrant was issued for the arrest of her husband. – was the father of their two-year-old son. His body was recovered in a forest on 3 May 2006. The Swiss police eventually confirmed that Stadler committed suicide using the same gun – his military weapon – with which he had killed Rey-Bellet and her brother.
