Councillors are elected for a fixed four-year term of office. The Mayor is elected by the Councillors at the first meeting of the Council. The most recent election was held in October 2020. On the 11th of November, 2020, councillor Louise Crawford was elected unanimously to the position of Mayor of the City of Port Philip for a term of one year.
