History

The station was opened on 9 July 1928 by the Southern Railway. It became part of the
Southern Region of British Railways The Southern Region was a region of British Railways from 1948 until 1992 when railways were re-privatised. The region ceased to be an operating unit in its own right in the 1980s. The region covered south London, southern England and the sout ...
when the railways were nationalised in 1948. The halt was closed in 1956 as part of an economy campaign. The line through the station continued to be used by passenger trains until 1966 and afterwards by goods trains for the terminal at

until 1969. Later that year the track was lifted. The site was in a cutting, which has now been filled in and is the garden of a house.
