At the 2000 census there were 1,680 people, 571 households, and 452 families in the township. The population density was 54.3 people per square mile (21.0/km2). There were 627 housing units at an average density of 20.3/sq mi (7.8/km2). The

There were 571 households, 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.4% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.8% were non-families. 17.7% of households were made up of individuals, and 8.8% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.31. The age distribution was 26.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% 65 or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 104.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.8 males. The median household income was $41,200 and the median family income was $45,707.
