The main landmark of the town is the Chyše Castle. The old fortress was rebuilt into a Gothic castle, then it was rebuilt into a Renaissance residence in 1578. The Baroque modification took place in 1695–1708. The current appearance is a result of the neo-Gothic reconstruction in 1856–1858. Today the castle is open to the public. A very rare ceiling painting by Petr Brandl on the vault of one of the castle's representative salons dates from 1699. The Church of the Name of the Virgin Mary and the

monastery were originally late Gothic buildings from the 15th century. After they were almost completely destroyed by a fire in 1687, they were rebuilt in the early Baroque style. The interior of the church is decorated with paintings by Petr Brandl. A notable building is the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It is an early Baroque cemetery church from 1710, which replaced an older Gothic church. Only a few fragments have survived from the medieval fortifications.
