Early life

Elton was born on September 22, 1958, in Canada. He attended

in Italy for two years. After graduating from BYU, he began his career in radio sales. He later transitioned into the field of recognition and employee engagement, as an employee at O.C. Tanner, where he met his co-author Adrian Gostick. They would go on to write 12 books together. He has been married to his wife Heidi for 40 years, and they have four children and three grandchildren.
