Carlos Yushimito del Valle studied Latin American Literature at the

where he graduated in 2002. Two years later he published his first short stories collection, ''El Mago'' (The Magician), and in 2006 his second book, Las Islas (Islands), was warmly received by the critics. Since then, his stories have appeared in several anthologies of short stories in Peru and abroad. In 2010 he was considered by the British literary magazine ''
