On December 3, he re-signed with Chicago on a minor league contract. Frare was released by the White Sox organization on June 26, 2020. At the time of his release, Frare had appeared in 16 games in the major leagues, with an impressive 11.2 K/9 and a 6.52 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 9.2 relief innings.
