Perry grew up in Knocklyon in Dublin and is a graduate of
Dublin City University Dublin City University (abbreviated as DCU) ( ga, Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath) is a university based on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. Created as the ''National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin'' in 1975, it enrolled its f ...
where she completed an Undergraduate Degree in Journalism in 2002 and a master's degree in International Relations in 2010. Perry is married. On 29 January 2019, Perry announced that she was expecting her first child. She gave birth to a baby girl on 29 July 2019. On 14 April 2022, Perry announced that she was expecting her second child. She gave birth to a baby boy on 20 September 2022.
