On March 10, 2008, Carr attended Central Michigan's pro day and performed the majority of drills, but opted to skip the bench press. He also attended a pre-draft visit with the Kansas City Chiefs. At the conclusion of the pre-draft process, Carr was projected to be a sixth or seventh-round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts. He was ranked as the 25th best cornerback prospect in the draft by DraftScout.com.

On March 13, 2018, the Ravens exercised the second-year option on Carr's four-year contract. Carr once again started all 16 games in 2018, extending his consecutive start streak, recording 45 combined tackles, 11 passes defensed, and two interceptions.
